Is your life defined by peace? Not just a subjective feeling of peace, but an objective reality of peace. True peace must be based on a right relationship with God. Romans 5:1 clearly explains this reality when it states, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Peace with God comes only when a person forsakes their trust in themselves and the things of this world and trusts alone in Christ’s payment for their sin on the cross. The reason we need to be at peace with God is that Romans 5:10 says that without Christ we are His enemies, because of our rebellion in sin. If you haven’t already, I urge you to place your faith in Christ alone and be at peace with God.

All Christians are by definition at peace with God and are therefore called to be at peace with others. Romans 12:18 states, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” We are to be peacemakers for the purpose of bringing glory to God. Ken Sande in His book The Peace Maker writes the following about peacemakers, “Peacemakers are people who breathe grace. They draw continually on the goodness and power of Jesus Christ, and then they bring his love, forgiveness, strength, and wisdom to the conflicts of daily life. God delights to breathe his grace through peacemakers and use them to dissipate anger, improve understanding, promote justice, and encourage repentance and reconciliation.” Are you a Peacemaker? Just imagine the witness it would be to a watching world, if we, God’s people, were to bring peace into relationships instead of strife, which is the world’s way. I want to encourage you to join me in relying on the grace of God daily to be a person who brings His peace into relationships for His glory.
